Steel composite boards printing are very similar to aluminium composite boards but where the aluminium skin has been replaced with a steel skin.
What makes all the difference is the magnetic properties of steel which aluminium does not have. This particular property makes it very popular amongst our customers working in different industries where a printed board with magnetic capabilities is required, such as manufacturing, templating or packaging.
Thanks to our top of the range large bed printer we are able to offer steel composite boards up to a size of 1220mm x 2440mm.
While its magnetic properties make steel composite boards ideal in specific industries, it should be noted that they are heavier than boards made out of other materials such as ACP boards.
With this technique, we can make information plates with direct printing on stainless steel or other materials for buildings, companies, official organisations, exhibitions and almost anything else that you can think of. At The Board Printing Company, we can also provide you with information plates and all accessories for your events – these can be permanently mounted or can be mounted on moveable fixtures, such as those needing to be redeployed for changes in use.
Both sides of the board have a flat, smooth and uniform stainless steel surface where text or image are printed using epoxy-based inks. These epoxy-based inks are different to any other kind of ink used in the printing sector as they do not dry when the solvent evaporates, or by oxidation. That means that the epoxy ink works only together with the catalyst. It is this reaction that makes the resin of the ink become one of the most resistant inks that can be found, making it perfect for printing on steel composite boards for adverse environmental conditions where a degree of adhesion is required. These boards and inks are built to last and should be considered for use where challenging conditions would make short work of less robust solutions.
